Color Week :: Orange and Blue

I have really stubborn hair. Whenever it is bleached it turns into this fabulous shade of orange and kind of gets stuck there for a while before going any lighter and into the underlying pigment of yellow. It's kind of insane. The last time I decided to go lighter, my colorist and I decided to embrace the orange - she used a blue bleach which slightly counteracted the orange without overpowering it as my hair was lightened. It turned into a beautiful, Pre-Raphaelite, strawberry blonde, and I absolutely loved it.

The infamous "mousy brown" is at the other end of the spectrum. Mousy brown hair is missing the depth that is usually brought by warm tones in hair color. An easy fix for that is using a color conditioner that can add some warmth to it. Below are some of my favorites.

John Frieda Sheer Blonde Honey Caramel Conditioner
Davines Alchemic Copper Conditioner

Oh man, I am dying over the hair pictured here! Beauty with those dark eyebrows.

This color theory has been so interesting-my hair makes so much more sense to me now!

I am in love with this!

I had green/red hair for a while, this reminds me of it. I might try this though... I've been wanting to go teal for a while and the way the teal frames her face is a great alternative to going all teal (:

thanks for sharing!
